Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Fabrication and Welding Engineering - Structural Steelwork Pathway
The EAL Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Fabrication and Engineering Welding has been designed to allow a learner to specialise in one of the pathways listed; Manual Welding, Sheet Metalworking, Structural Steelwork, Plateworking, Pipe and Tube Fabrication
Description
In order to achieve this qualification the learner will be required to attain three mandatory units, the required number of optional units and the specified number of additional units, as detailed within the selected pathway.
Learners will be required to create a Portfolio of Evidence to prove their competence in the workplace. Learners should therefore select the units that reflect the job role they carry out to be able to obtain the required workplace evidence.
The overall grading type for this qualification is Pass/Fail. Units will be assessed and endorsed against the learners chosen discipline.
Mandatory Units for all Pathways
QFWE3/001N - Complying with statutory regulations and organisational safety requirements
QFWE3/002N - Using and interpreting engineering data and documentation
QFWE3/003N - Working efficiently and effectively in engineering
Pathway FWE: Structural Steelwork
Learners must complete one of the following units (Please enter your selected unit during the registration page)

QFWE3/043N - Erecting structural steelwork
QFWE3/039N - Slinging, lifting and moving materials and components
The course duration will vary due to the varied length of the units chosen in each pathway. Cost covers the minimum units required for each pathway.
Extra units can be added at an additional cost of £500 each (these can be purchased here - Additional NVQ Units)
This qualification is appropriate for age ranges 16-18 & 19+.
Prerequisites
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. Learners must have been initially assessed to ensure they have both the potential and opportunity to achieve the assessment criteria set out in the qualification units and gain evidence from the workplace.
