The aim of this course is for Scaffolding Managers and Supervisors who require renewal of their CISRS Scaffolding Supervisor card. It aims to review the core management skills required to effectively supervise scaffold operations.

This unit identifies the training and development required in order that the learner can demonstrate that they are competent in being able prepare and use CNC turning machines, that will prepare them for entry into the engineering or manufacturing sectors, creating a progression between education and employment, or that will provide a basis for the development of additional skills and occupational competences in the working environment.

The Scaffolding NVQ Level 2 Portfolio day must be completed to achieve a Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Accessing Operations and Rigging - Scaffolding qualification. The training has been developed for delivery in a working environment and delegates must therefore be employed to study this qualification. This qualification enables delegates to work in Accessing Operations and Rigging within the construction industry by demonstrating competence in a real workplace environment. The law requires that any individual wishing to erect, alter or dismantle scaffolding must be able to prove their competency. The industry-wide accepted proof of competency for operatives is to hold a CISRS Scaffold card. Upon completion of this course, you will receive a CISRS Scaffolders Card. Valid for 5 years.

The course is for operatives who carry out onsite Labouring duties in support of Scaffolding operations. The holder of a CISRS Trainee Scaffolder or CISRS Scaffolding labourer card will have current Health and Safety knowledge and the required skills to carry out their duties in a safe manner.

CISRS Trainee Scaffolder card holders will be considered a trainee scaffolder regardless of the experience they have within the scaffolding industry. Accordingly, they should not undertake any scaffolding activities unless they are under the direct supervision of a qualified scaffolder. The Trainee will be expected to complete the following training within the validity of 2 x 18 month CISRS Trainee Scaffolder Cards: • COTS • CISRS Part 1 • CISRS Part 2 • NVQ Level 2/ SCQF Level 5 • CISRS 1 Day Skills Test

This unit identifies the training and development required in order that the learner can demonstrate that they are competent in being able to: Carry out the assembly of a range of electronic components such as resistors (fixed and variable), capacitors (fixed and variable), diodes, transistors and other semiconductor devices, integrated circuits (analogue and digital), miniature transformers, switches, indicators, wire links and a range of connectors, spacers and brackets to form various types of circuits.

This unit identifies the training and development required in order that the learner can demonstrate that they are competent in being able to: Prepare the welding equipment and to ensure that all leads/cables, shielding gas system, hoses and wire feed mechanisms are securely connected and free from damage. They will also need to obtain and check that all the work holding equipment is in a safe and usable condition.

This unit identifies the training and development required in order that the learner can demonstrate that they are competent in being able to carry out turning operations on machines such as centre lathes, capstan or turret lathes, automatic or other specific turning machines.

The Part 2 course is the second part of the required CISRS training for the Scaffolder card. Part 2 can only be accessed when Part 1 has been successfully completed, and 6 months experience has been gained following the Part 1 course. A second Trainee card can be applied for.

This course is intended for CISRS Scaffold card holders or for inspection card renewals, and also for those responsible for inspecting and checking basic scaffolds for safe use, signing certificates and registers in accordance with statutory regulations.
