From the 1st July 2017, it is a requirement of the CISRS Training scheme, that CISRS Scaffolders and Advance Scaffolder card holders must attend a 2-day Scaffolder Refresher/ CPD course in order to renew their CISRS cards. Renewal is required every 5 years.

The law requires that any individual wishing to erect, alter or dismantle scaffolding must be able to prove their competency. The industry-wide accepted proof of competency for operatives is to hold a CISRS Scaffold card. Upon completion of this course, you will receive a CISRS Scaffolders Card. Valid for 5 years.

This half day course is designed to help engineers know the correct methods when handling Abrasive Wheels. This will include handling, maintaining, checking for hazards and the correct methods of removing and re-installing Abrasive Wheels.

On this course, you will learn to Identify and use basic electrical components. This course covers: • Isolating and testing supplies in line with the requirements of the EaWR and GS 38 • Using common electrical test instruments safely and efficiently • Reading typical electrical drawings • Reading motor rating plates • Identifying and connecting industrial motors

The Scaffolding NVQ Level 2 Portfolio day must be completed to achieve a Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Accessing Operations and Rigging - Scaffolding qualification. The training has been developed for delivery in a working environment and delegates must therefore be employed to study this qualification. This qualification enables delegates to work in Accessing Operations and Rigging within the construction industry by demonstrating competence in a real workplace environment. 2 weeks, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM

CISRS Trainee Scaffolder card holders will be considered a trainee scaffolder regardless of the experience they have within the scaffolding industry. Accordingly, they should not undertake any scaffolding activities unless they are under the direct supervision of a qualified scaffolder. The Trainee will be expected to complete the following training within the validity of 2 x 18 month CISRS Trainee Scaffolder Cards: • COTS • CISRS Part 1 • CISRS Part 2 • NVQ Level 2/ SCQF Level 5 • CISRS 1 Day Skills Test

A CISRS Advanced Scaffolder Card Holder is deemed competent to lead a scaffold gang in all scaffold operations, including complex design structures. The Advanced Scaffold training is the first step in this process.
