Training schedule

This unit identifies the training and development required in order that the learner can demonstrate that they are competent in being able to: Prepare the welding equipment and to ensure that all leads/cables, shielding gas system, hoses and wire feed mechanisms are securely connected and free from damage. They will also need to obtain and check that all the work holding equipment is in a safe and usable condition.

Delegates will learn the basic principles of Hydraulics Systems/ Mechanical devices Removing fitting and adjusting. This course covers: • Bearings: Recognise defects • Remove a range of plain, ball and roller bearings • Select and correctly fit a range of bearings • Belt and Chain drive mechanisms • Shafts and couplings including alignment • Drive Keys • Clutches and gear systems

A 1 day course covering the principles of measurement using a range of instruments commonly used in the Engineering industry. Method of Delivery: • Lecture • Demonstrations • Practical exercises There will be an assessment at the end which will require observation and questioning
