CISRS CPD Scaffolder / Advance Scaffolder Renewal

From the 1st July 2017, it is a requirement of the CISRS Training scheme, that CISRS Scaffolders and Advance Scaffolder card holders must attend a 2-day Scaffolder Refresher/ CPD course in order to renew their CISRS cards. Renewal is required every 5 years.

Description

This course has been designed to bring operatives up to date with current standards.   Alongside a re-cap on Part 2 training, delegates will receive updates on TG20 and SG4 and will cover subjects such as Anchor Ties, Design Appreciation, Vehicle Safety, Manual Handling, Temporary Edge Protection, System Product updates, PPE, Protection of the Public and Impact Wrenches. All delegates will have this training endorsed onto their renewed CISRS cards.

Training 2000 will apply for CISRS scaffolding cards on behalf of delegates upon course completion (where applicable). If the required information is not received within six months of the course date, delegates must apply directly to CISRS for their card.

Prerequisites

To be issued with a CISRS Scaffolder / Advance Scaffolder Card, the scaffolder will undertake (& pass) a Health & Safety Test on the day. 

Should the scaffolder not pass the Health & Safety Test, they will be required to undertake a CITB HS&E Test (or provide an accepted exemption). This will be valid for 2 years.

The industry-wide accepted proof of competency for operatives is to hold a CISRS Advanced Scaffolder card. Upon completion of this 2 day course, the operative will receive a CISRS Advanced Scaffolders Card. Valid for 5 years.

This 2 day course is for people who hold a CISRS Inspection Card (or previous equivalent) or a CISRS Scaffolder Card for at least two years, or hold a CISRS Advanced Scaffolder Card (gold card).

This 3 day course is intended for CISRS Scaffold card holders or for inspection card renewals, and also for those responsible for inspecting and checking basic scaffolds for safe use, signing certificates and registers in accordance with statutory regulations. You should have awareness and experience of scaffolding structures, coming from time spent in your individual industry sector. You’ll be required to confirm this experience by producing a CV.

CISRS Trainee Scaffolder card holders will be considered a trainee scaffolder regardless of the experience they have within the scaffolding industry. Accordingly, they should not undertake any scaffolding activities unless they are under the direct supervision of a qualified scaffolder. The Trainee will be expected to complete the following training within the validity of 2 x 18 month CISRS Trainee Scaffolder Cards: • COTS • CISRS Part 1 • CISRS Part 2 • NVQ Level 2/ SCQF Level 5 • CISRS 1 Day Skills Test

It can only be undertaken once Part 1 has been successfully completed and a minimum of six months’ relevant on-site experience has been gained.
