Part 2 (Tube & Fitting)
The Part 2 course is the second part of the required CISRS training for the Scaffolder card. Part 2 can only be accessed when Part 1 has been successfully completed, and 6 months experience has been gained following the Part 1 course. A second Trainee card can be applied for.
Description
On successfully completing the course, you will be able to erect, alter and dismantle scaffold structures safely and in their correct sequence under suitable supervision.
Training objectives aim to ensure that at the end of the course you will have knowledge of:
- The correct and safe methods of erecting bridging beams, loading bay, splay, truss out, pavement gantry, roof saddle, cantilevered protection fan scaffolds, in tube and fitting and mobile aluminium tower scaffolds where applicable
- The delegate will have knowledge of the regulations governing the safe erecting, inspection and dismantling of these scaffolds and the work methods to be adopted
- The health and safety regulations that relate to the use, erection, adaption, dismantling, storage and inspection of tube and fitting scaffolding.
To gain accreditation as a qualified Scaffolder, and therefore hold a Scaffolder card, the delegate must complete the following elements after completing the Part 2 training course:
- NVQ L2
- 1 day Basic Skills Test

- COTS - Claim £150 to help pay for a CISRS Operatives Training Scheme (COTS) course.
- Newly Qualified CISRS Scaffolder - Claim £200 for operatives qualifying for their first CISRS Scaffolder Card.
- Newly Qualified CISRS Advanced Scaffolder - Claim £250 for operatives qualifying for their first CISRS Advanced Scaffolder Card.
- Newly Qualified CISRS Supervisor - Claim £500 for operatives qualifying for their first CISRS Supervisor Scaffolder Card.
- CISRS Systems Scaffold Product Training Scheme (SSPTS) Endorsement - Claim £175 for operatives completing a CISRS SSPTS course and getting the system endorsement on their CISRS card.
- CISRS Scaffold Inspection Training Scheme (SITS) - Claim £175 for operatives completing a CISRS SITS course and receiving an inspection card.
Prerequisites
Evidence of competing a Part 1 Training course
A CISRS Trainee Scaffolders Card must be held for 6 months before a trainee can attend Part 2 training.
To be issued with a CISRS Trainee Scaffolders Card, the operative must have passed a CITB HS&E Test (or accepted exemption). Valid for 2 years.
