EAL Level 2 Certificate in Electronics Short Course (AUEC2-016)
This unit identifies the training and development required in order that the Student can demonstrate that they are competent in being able to: Carry out the assembly of a range of electronic components such as resistors (fixed and variable), capacitors (fixed and variable), diodes, transistors and other semiconductor devices, integrated circuits (analogue and digital), miniature transformers, switches, indicators, wire links and a range of connectors, spacers and brackets to form various types of circuits.
Description
What you’ll learn
This will involve using a range of tools and equipment along with soldering techniques and anti-static protection techniques. The assembly activities will include making all necessary checks and adjustments to the circuits, including continuity checks, voltage, current and resistance values, waveform and ensuring that the circuit functions to the specification. Students will also learn basic knowledge principles and safety requirements around electronics components and equipment.
Who is this course for
This course is aimed at Engineers that have a base understanding of electrical principles and provides a further base to up skill, or for those wanting to gain foundational practical skills, from non-electrical roles needing to understand basic electronics/electrical principles and how electronic boards are constructed and tested.
How you’ll be assessed
Assessment is done through knowledge-based questions and products of work combined with observations. The learner will receive an EAL Level 2 certificate upon completion of the course.
Prerequisites
There are no formal entry requirements for this course.
